Haven House Family Shelter, Inc. in Vicksburg, MS announces a new State of MS DV Housing Program in partnership with, and under the administration of, the FVPSA ARP funds grantee, S.A.F.E., Inc. of Tupelo, MS. The program will provide a victim-centered, trauma informed, and holistic approach to assist DV survivors in their search to obtain safe, sustainable housing. The emphasis will be to serve the typically underserved population in our state through enhancement of culturally appropriate services, advancement of racial equity within the Black community, and assistance to those with disabilities. A health component will be implemented in regards to gaps in housing sustainability due to COVID-19 issues.
The DV Housing Navigator position will cover implementation of the housing program throughout one-third of the central-western part of the state; 18 counties from Washington County in the North to Wilkinson County in the South. Vicksburg, as a central location, can serve as a home base office. However, there is an opportunity to work remotely from another location.
This is an opportunity for a social worker, or person with a similar background, to make a real difference in the lives of DV survivors, helping them to thrive and break the cycle of abuse.
