Do All Things Children’s Circle, Inc.
Do All Things Children’s Circle, Inc., (DATCC), located in Holmes, County, MS, is emerging as a resource and activity space for youth, teens and young adults, ages seven to 17, to express themselves through the performing, visual, creative, and culinary arts. We are a group of volunteers who work in our community, each summer since our inception in 2016, to bring awareness to our community, as to how the arts play a very intricate role in a child’s development, as well as his/her mental health. Since the arts are no longer in “most public schools,” especially in rural Mississippi, DATCC was created to “bring back” the arts – a very essential element in a child’s life. We incorporate academics, as well, to include age-appropriate math and reading comprehension. Our participants also engage in “real life” scenarios relating to racial, social and civic justice. We provide year-round, once a month activities, where we give our participants an avenue to travel and explore venues in Mississippi such as museums, theaters, courtyards, open air concerts, attend cooking classes, and the opportunity to observe professional performing artists practice and perform. To learn more about Do All Things Children’s Circle, Inc., and its work please contact, Arnita Knight, Executive Director at doallthingscc@gmail.com.
