Biography

Biography

Julia Weaver has served as a consultant to nonprofits, universities, and local governments for the past 20 years. Past clients include the Partnership for Gulf Coast Land Conservation, the Gulf Coast Research Lab, the Mississippi Disaster Interfaith Task Force, and the Foundation for the Mid-South. Weaver has provided grant-writing, communications, and project management services in a variety of settings. She specializes in group facilitation.

Weaver served as Alderman At Large in Ocean Springs, MS, and assisted with recovery after Hurricane Katrina. Weaver holds a BA from Rhodes College and a Master’s in Divinity from Harvard University.

Weaver has been active in the Gulf Coast community through volunteer and leadership roles, including:
Co-founder and Manager, Rebuild Ocean Springs Fund and Katrina Benefit Fund; Co-founder, Fed Up with 50th, an all-volunteer advocacy organization for public education funding in Mississippi; Founding Board Member, Mississippi Public Education Political Action Committee; Board member of the United Way of Jackson/George Counties;
Member of the 2010 Master’s Leadership Class of the Gulf Coast Business Council, 2001 Leadership Jackson County; Volunteer for the Gulf Coast Business Council’s Master’s Leadership Program, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ocean Springs High School, Chair of Ocean Springs Boys & Girls Club Ungala, 2011 & 2012.
