Mississippi Alliance of
Nonprofits and Philanthropy

The Alliance enters this season of reflection and gratitude, deeply appreciative of the support from our many members, supporters, and friends.

We are profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support shown during our inaugural leadership conference held last month. Nearly 200 participants came together at the Jackson Convention Center for a day filled with purposeful networking, thoughtful discussion, and the exchange of innovative ideas shared among the leaders of extraordinary nonprofit and philanthropic organizations working hard to do good in our state.  Our keynote speaker, Trista Harris, challenged us to think beyond our current problems and instead, imagine our world, community, and state as ideal places we would like to see.  What could that ideal future look like?  What would our communities look like if the problems we are working to resolve were suddenly fully solved?  I encourage us all to envision that.

As we envision that ideal future, we can also work in the present.  Giving Tuesday is recognized globally as the first Tuesday after the Thanksgiving holiday.  This is a day we are encouraged to give back to our communities, or a charity near and dear to our hearts.  If you are unable to give monetarily, you can volunteer at a nonprofit or simply lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need.  We all can contribute to an ideal community and future we hope to see.

With gratitude,

Ellen
