What are some sweet success strategies for nonprofit professionals?

Consistency matters! If you want stronger fundraising, make sure your website and social media are up to date and consistent in message. Foundations often look at a nonprofit’s website/social media when evaluating a donation request or proposal submission; therefore, what is in your proposal should match what is on your website and social media. Facts are important, but stories sell!
The IRS doesn’t have to be spooky? Look at the IRS publication titled Compliance Guide for 501(c)(3) Public Charities. Listed as “p4221pc” you can find it on the irs.gov website. The first section tells you what activities may jeopardize a public charities exempt status. Read it carefully. The first line under Legislative Activities states: “A public charity is not permitted to engage in substantial legislative activities. Notice the use of the term “substantial” because a public charity can be involved in limited lobbying.
