Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: Focus on People & Organizations

McKenzie Wren and Gayle Burnett believe is using the art of conversation, self-exploration, and compassion to explore how to recognize and begin to shift historic inequities by applying an equity lens to current situations. In an environment of support and compassion, Gayle and McKenzie help groups and individuals create a new future together, without shame and blame for the past. Each session opens with a moment of mindfulness and a community builder and concludes with a closing activity.

Participants will be able to:

• Use conversational and listening skills to have successful conversations across social differences (race, class, gender and sexual diversity, politics etc)
• Apply equity lens to ensure greater equity and inclusion in grantmaking
• Apply equity lens to ensure greater equity and inclusion in non-profit organizational
  hiring, policy, and culture
• Analyse current programs and policies for existing inequities
