A message from your executive director…
As we dive into the festive spirit of December, I’d like to take a moment to reflect over the extraordinary year the Mississippi Alliance of Nonprofits and Philanthropy has had. This year has been nothing short of remarkable, marked by many changes and firsts. As I reflect on the transformative journey of 2023, it is impossible not to acknowledge the exceptional foresight of our founder, Sammy Moon.
Sammy Moon, a true visionary, breathed life into the Alliance, and it’s with immense gratitude, we wish him a joyous retirement. His vision has been the guiding light that paved the way for the Alliance’s success. Enthusiastically I embrace the torch he passed, knowing the spirit of collaboration and compassion he instilled will continue to illuminate our path forward to greater heights!
Heartfelt appreciation goes out to each one of our members and supporters, the backbone of the Alliance. As we look back on the milestones of 2023, it was your collective strength that defined our journey. Your steadfast commitment propelled the Alliance forward, allowing us to deliver the support and services you requested and needed. You are the heartbeat of our success, and we eagerly anticipate our continued work together in the coming year.
Behind every success story, there is always a dedicated team of individuals. A heartfelt thank you extends to the exceptional staff of the Alliance. Your tireless efforts, passion and resilience have been the bedrock of our achievements throughout the year. Hundreds of hours of trainings and capacity-building services, our inaugural statewide conference, and many community initiatives have been successful because of you. I acknowledge the invaluable contributions of our team who bring the Alliance’s mission to life every day. Here’s to a bright future ahead, shaped by your continued dedication and creativity.
In this season of giving, we celebrate the true essence of its meaning by showcasing stories and achievements of our featured nonprofits and philanthropic members in this edition of The Ally. Their work embodies the spirit of generosity, the power of giving, and the unyielding strength of our alliance. And as we bid farewell to 2023, take a moment to reflect on all we’ve achieved together. May this reflection fuel our anticipation for the coming year as we aim to carry the momentum forward, united in our commitment to building a sector that is not just stronger but more impactful than ever before.
With gratitude,
Ellen
